Roll the dice, meet your match

Kalteri is a friendly board game tournament club running regular tabletop competitions across the UK. Whether you play alone or as part of a team, we organise well-structured events with clear rules, honest pricing, and a welcoming community. Some tournaments are completely free; others carry a modest entry fee. Everything is explained up front, so you always know exactly what you’re signing up for.

What is Kalteri?

We’re a club built around the simple pleasure of playing great board games competitively and fairly. Members range from complete beginners trying their first tournament to seasoned players chasing a club title. We handle the tables, timing, referees, and rulebooks — you bring your strategy.

Playing solo or as a team

You can enter most tournaments as an individual, competing on your own results. Others are team events, where a small group plays together under a shared name. You can form your own team, join an existing one, or ask us to place you with other players looking for teammates. Team sizes are listed for each event.

How the club works

Our model is straightforward. We run two kinds of tournaments:

Free tournaments give newcomers and returning players an easy, no-cost way to join in. They’re ideal for learning formats, meeting other members, and getting comfortable with competitive play.

Paid tournaments carry a clearly stated entry fee that covers venue costs, refereeing, materials, and a well-organised event. The fee pays for the experience — it does not buy an advantage. Every player faces the same rules and the same odds at the table.

You choose your events from the schedule, register as an individual or a team, pay any applicable fee, and turn up. That’s it.

Free and paid formats explained

Free events are funded by the club and kept deliberately accessible. Paid events give you a more structured, larger, or specialist competition with dedicated staffing. Neither format changes the fundamentals: outcomes depend on skill, decisions, and a little luck of the draw. Paying an entry fee never guarantees a better placing, a prize, or a win.
