Terms of Service
Last updated: 8 July 2026
These Terms govern your use of Kalteri’s website and participation in our tournaments. By registering, you agree to them.
Club overview
Kalteri is a board game tournament club organising free and paid tabletop competitions for individuals and teams in the United Kingdom.
Participant eligibility
Participants must be at least 16 years old. Those aged 16 or 17 require parental or guardian consent. By registering, you confirm you meet these requirements.
Individual registrations
Individual entries are made through our online form. Your place is confirmed once your registration is accepted and any fee is paid.
Team registrations
Team entries are submitted by a captain, who is responsible for the accuracy of team details and for communicating with team members.
Free tournaments
Free events require registration but no payment. Places are limited and allocated on a first-come basis.
Paid tournaments
Paid events require an entry fee stated on the schedule. Your place is confirmed once payment is received.
Tournament entry fees
Entry fees cover the venue, materials, staffing, and organisation of the event. They are not bets, wagers, or deposits, and they confer no competitive advantage.
Registration confirmation
We confirm all registrations by email. Please check your details and contact us if anything is wrong.
Payments
Payments are processed securely by a third-party provider. We accept major debit and credit cards.
Cancellations
You may cancel by emailing info@kalteri.org. Refunds for paid events depend on the notice given.
Refund conditions
7 or more days before the event: full refund
3–6 days before: 50% refund
Fewer than 3 days before, or no-show: no refund
If Kalteri cancels a paid event, you receive a full refund.
Waiting lists
When an event is full, you may join the waiting list. Places that become available are offered in order, with a short window to confirm.
Player substitutions
Teams may substitute a member up to 24 hours before an event by notifying us. Same-day substitutions are at the referee’s discretion.
Tournament schedules
Schedules are published in advance but may change. We’ll notify registered participants of any changes as early as possible.
Event changes and cancellations
We may change a date, time, or venue, or cancel an event, where necessary. Paid participants affected by a cancellation receive a full refund.
Participant responsibilities
You agree to arrive on time, follow the rules and referee decisions, and behave respectfully towards others.
Team responsibilities
Captains are responsible for their team’s conduct, attendance, and compliance with these Terms.
Tournament rules
Each game follows its published rulebook, with any adjustments explained before play. Referees resolve disputes and their decisions are final.
Fair play principles
All results are decided by play alone. Cheating, collusion, and dishonesty are strictly prohibited.
Code of conduct
Participants must be courteous and honest, respect staff and other players, and avoid disruptive, discriminatory, or offensive behaviour.
Prohibited behaviour
The following may lead to removal without refund:
Cheating or manipulating results
Abusive, threatening, or discriminatory conduct
Ignoring referee decisions
Disrupting events or damaging property
Prizes or participant rewards
Some events may offer non-cash recognition such as certificates, club titles, or small tokens. Any rewards are described per event. Paying an entry fee does not entitle you to a prize.
Intellectual property
All website content, branding, and materials belong to Kalteri or its licensors and may not be reused without permission. Board game names and materials remain the property of their respective owners.
Photography and event media
We may take photographs or video at events for club promotion. Tell a member of staff on the day if you’d prefer not to appear, and we’ll respect your wishes.
Third-party services
We use third-party providers for payments, hosting, and communications. Their own terms and policies apply to their services.
Disclaimer of results
Paying a tournament entry fee does not guarantee victory, a prize, a ranking, competitive success, or any financial benefit. Outcomes depend solely on play.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Kalteri is not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
Force majeure
We are not responsible for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as extreme weather, power failures, or public emergencies.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Dispute resolution
Please contact us first so we can resolve any issue directly. If we cannot, disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
